Chilly out there

Was out on the water today working the flats off Pasco and Pinellas, and was surprised to find a school of about 75 good-sized reds on the outside flats despite the chilly water. It was early in the morning and they were in no mood to eat, but good to see such a large bunch of fish. Had I gone back to them later in the day when the sun was up, they might have been in a better mood.

Went from there to a creek in Dunedin and working inside came across a load of snook laid up and trying to stay warm. Like the reds, they were not about to take a bait of any kind, but that’s not surprising, as water temps were in the 50s and they are lacking the energy to do much of anything.
